  • Ask yourself why you are drawn to the image?

    • The color of the image and shapes created through lighting create a very warm and peaceful image.

• What is the main interest in the image and did the photographer compose the subject in an interesting way?

The main interest is the sky, in particular the clouds. The lighting of the sun is so bright that your eyes are initially attracted to it, but then move to the surrounding clouds.

• Does the depth of field complement the subject?

The depth of field is perfect with the choice of illustrating back light. It shows both an outline, but provides some texture still.

• Is the focus right for the subject?

The focus of the sun and clouds is very well done and close to the rule of thirds, thus creating an interesting image.

• Does the exposure, contrast, and color saturation work for the image?

The exposure, contrast, and color saturation focus the viewer's eyes on the back lighting.

• How does the image make you feel?

This image is warm and inviting.

• What would you do differently to make the image more appealing?

I would maybe position the sun a bit more to the right to make the image fit the rule of thirds. However, having the sun almost centered also really works and draws your eyes to the clouds. Amazing work overall!
