I find Greenfield's work very documentarian and interesting. I see her photography feminist as it focuses on issues such as body image and beauty standards that typically permeate in communities of women. Moreover, Greenfield's work concentrated on the pursuit of wealth and consumerism quite detached and I believe this is an intentional choice. The lighting and positioning in the photos such as Generation Wealth feel jarring as they are full of unnatural poses and gaudy decor. Overall, Laina did an amazing job of exploring Lauren Greenfield's work!
Comment from Leolina Farinelli:
Hi Emma! I love the detail you put into your presentation and the research you did on Walker Evans. His passion for photographer and the reason behind that was interesting. I enjoyed how you explained and analyzed each of his strong photographs; it is clear that his photographs are very strong and influential, especially as you are able to examine the images so clearly. I find Evans' work to be very important, covering a very important era in our American history. Great job!
